Key company operations
The activities of PIK Vinkovci are divided into the production of arable and vegetable crops, cooperation, drying and storage of cereals and oilseeds, seed material processing, storage and packaging of fruit and vegetables, and livestock production.
Arable farming and vegetable production
In arable farming, more than 4,000 hectares of arable land are cultivated, and the crops most commonly grown are wheat, barley, sunflower, soybeans, sugar beet, and corn. PIK Vinkovci is one of the largest producers and purchasers of vegetables in Croatia, and precisely because of vegetable cultivation, the company now irrigates 17% of its arable land, which is twice as much as the average irrigation rate in the European Union. Each year, 4,200 tons of vegetables are placed on the market, almost half of which is red onion, for which a distribution center and warehouse were built in Lipovac.
Pig farming and cattle farming
Pig production is focused on the production of piglets for fattening, on three farms in the area around Vinkovci. PIK Vinkovci also operates a beef cattle fattening farm with a capacity of 1,200 animals.
