Key company operations
Vupik’s main activities include arable farming and vegetable production, a transshipment port, viticulture and winemaking, pig farming, and cattle farming.
Arable farming and vegetable production
Vupik’s arable land, vineyards, farms, and production facilities are located in Vukovar and its wider surroundings, from the state border all the way to Osijek and Vinkovci. Vupik cultivates around 7,200 hectares of top-quality land, ensuring excellent results in the production of cereals and oilseeds. Vegetables are grown on more than 500 hectares near the Grabovo reservoir, which provides sufficient water for ten irrigation systems.
Transshipment port
Vupik owns the most modern river terminal on the Danube, located on the right bank of the river at the Silos Dunav site in Vukovar. It is designed for transshipment of cereals, oilseeds, and other bulk materials and is connected both to the silo and to railway loading and unloading capacities, as well as truck loading and unloading facilities.
Viticulture and winemaking
Near the well-known archaeological site of Vučedol in Vukovar, there are 120 hectares of fertile Vupik vineyards dominated by Graševina, the most important variety of the Croatian Danube region. All harvested grapes are processed in Vupik’s own winery in Vukovar, where two wine lines are produced: Golubica and Goldschmidt.
Pig and cattle farming
Pig production in Vupik, as well as in Belje and PIK Vinkovci, is based on PIC genetics and takes place on four farms where high biosecurity measures are applied to ensure a high health status of animals throughout all stages of the production cycle. Beef fattening is organized on two modern farms, as is dairy cow farming, and all milk produced in Vupik is delivered to the Belje dairy factory in Osijek.
