Zlata Bartl Foundation

Foundation programs:

1. The Power of Innovation – supports the development of innovative solutions that respond to specific challenges in the food and agriculture sectors or to current social and environmental challenges. The program is primarily focused on companies that are predominantly women-owned

2. Young Leaders – supports pupils and students who achieve excellent results in education or in STEM competitions, as well as projects and initiatives aimed at acquiring knowledge and skills for the professions of the future

Competition completed under the “Young Leaders” program – grants for student competitions

The goal of the program was to support the development of knowledge and skills that are crucial for the professions of the future by encouraging excellence and participation in STEM competitions.

The competition was open until 17 November 2025, after which the Management Board made a decision on the recipients of scholarships from the “Young Leaders” program – grants for student competitions.

The recipients are as follows:

  • Association of Young Koprivnica Mathematicians – International mathematics competition Euromath&Euroscience 2026, Cyprus
  • Fran Galović Gymnasium Koprivnica – EuroMath & EuroScience competition, Cyprus
  • Croatian Mathematical Society – Participation of the Croatian team in the International Mathematical Olympiad, China
  • Croatian Mathematical Society – Final mathematics competition Mathematics Alympiad, the Netherlands
  • Association for the Promotion of New Technologies “Robofreak” – RoboCup Junior, international robotics competitions, South Korea

Competition completed under the “Young Leaders” program for awarding scholarships of the “Zlata Bartl” Foundation

As part of the program supporting education and youth development, the “Zlata Bartl” Foundation published the “Young Leaders” competition on 15 October 2025 with the aim of awarding scholarships to students up to 25 years of age who demonstrate exceptional potential for leadership, innovation, and social engagement.

The aim of the competition was to recognize, support, and empower young individuals who, through their knowledge, commitment, and vision, contribute to community development and show the potential to become future leaders in various fields.

After evaluating the applications, the Management Board made a decision on the recipients of scholarships from the “Young Leaders” program, and they are as follows:

The competition for awarding support under the “Power of Innovation” program has been completed

The competition for awarding support under the “Power of Innovation” program, aimed at encouraging the development of innovative solutions in the fields of food, agriculture, and responses to current social and environmental challenges, has been completed.

This program represents a strong incentive for creative and sustainable ideas that have the potential to develop innovative solutions with long-term social and environmental impact. Through a careful and expert evaluation process, projects were selected that stand out for their innovativeness, applicability, and social impact.

The recipients of support from the “Power of Innovation” program for 2025 are:

  • Fruk FinTech d.o.o. for the project “AgriCon – Digital platform for connecting fruit and vegetable growers”
  • NADES Design d.o.o. for the project “Development of a natural extract as a preservative for food products using NADES technology”
  • KRISTALNA IDEJA d.o.o. for the project “Creation of a final product – a portable device for purifying drinking water”

Foundation bodies and its financing

The Management Board consists of the following members:

Financing

The Foundation’s funds are collected through donations from the Founder, contributions from domestic and foreign natural and legal persons, and the commercial use of assets.


The legacy of Zlata Bartl

The Foundation bears the name of Professor Zlata Bartl, a scientist and innovator responsible for creating one of the most famous Croatian products – Vegeta. As a long-time Podravka employee, Zlata Bartl led the research team that in 1958 developed the universal seasoning that became an indispensable ingredient in kitchens around the world. Her work was marked by innovation, vision, and dedication to scientific research, and it is precisely these values that the Foundation seeks to pass on to new generations through its programs supporting knowledge, creativity, and innovation.
